William A. Hinds, Colville, WA, formerly of Binghamton, NY, 82, peacefully passed into the arms of his Lord and Saviour, Friday July 8, 2011. He was predeceased by his parents, Richard & Marion Hinds; his brother and his wife, Jack & Lynn Hinds; his sisters, Eleanor Rulison, Carol Cutler, Sandy Hayes; and his aunt, Helen. Surviving are his brother, Donald Hinds & Joanne; and his sister, Mary Hinds Sterling. He is also survived by his 2 devoted daughters & sons-in-law, Linda Watson Smith (Steve), Sharon Downey (Ted); 3 step-children, Glenda Ely Bellanca, Aiden Ely and David Ely; grandchildren, Shawna McMaster and J.D. McMaster; two great-grandchildren, Jenna and Morgan Hill; along with many special nieces and nephews.

Bill resided and worked as an electrician and member of IBEW Local 325 in the Binghamton area until his retirement, when he drove his motorhome across the country several times before finally living in Colville, WA. Bill enjoyed a life full of adventure and challenges. His ability to do anything that he set his mind to was inspiring. He became an auctioneer and was well known in the Binghamton area.

His love of music was his passion. He was a self-taught musician with an incredible "ear" and enjoyed playing many musical instruments including the keyboard, guitar and mandolin. His most precious instrument was his voice, which he used beautifully either in church or around the campfire surrounded by his family and friends who always were requesting him to entertain them. He was a member of the Southerntiersmen Barbershop Chorus along with several friends in his own quartet.

He enjoyed cooking, fishing, hunting, skiing and family. A memorial service will be held to honor Bill this summer. Burial will be in the Harpursville, NY cemetery.
